Retired California police Lt. Joel Salinas shows a 3D-laser scan image of Baldwin High School students Isaiah Oguma (right, first photo) and Makalii Sequeira (left) to other students during the Maui Police Department’s Forensic Science Day at the Forensic Facility in Wailuku on Tuesday afternoon. The scanner is used to document crash and crime scenes. About 200 high school seniors from Baldwin and King Kekaulike learned about forensics taught by 42 exhibit demonstrators from the county as well as the FBI and state agencies. The event was held in conjunction with National Forensic Science Week.
