Foodland, Western Union offer support

Foodland Super Market and the Western Union Foundation announced that up to $40,000 will be donated to support relief efforts of the American Red Cross of Hawaii, which is supporting communities and families affected by Hurricane Lane.

Western Union Foundation has committed $10,000 to the effort.

Both Foodland and the Western Union Foundation will jointly contribute an additional $30,000 to the American Red Cross of Hawaii to help match customer donations up to $15,000 given at checkout when customers select “Red Cross Disaster Relief,” as part of Foodland’s annual community matching gifts program, “Give Aloha.”

Western Union consumers who want to take advantage of the fee-free donations at selected Western Union agent locations in the U.S. can donate directly to the American Red Cross.

To donate, complete the blue payments section on the Western Union form, using “American Red Cross” as the pay to recipient; “REDCROSS HAWAII” as the code city, along with “Hurricane Lane Relief,” in the account field.
