Water issues in Kipahulu District
Haleakala National Park Kipahulu District officials have had to make emergency repairs to the park’s main waterline, which has resulted in water fountain and restroom closures, park officials said Friday.
Visitors to the Kipahulu District are urged to bring their own drinking water and should plan to use portable toilets until further notice, said parks spokesman Charles Lassiter in a news release.
Park staff is working to restore restroom and water availability as quickly as possible, he said.
Lassiter reminded the public that the Pools of Oheo remains closed until work to reduce rock slides is completed.
