Families, local groups, clubs and businesses joined forces to clean Waiehu Beach Park on March 2. Malama Maui Nui, in partnership with Blue Zones Project Maui and Sharkastics, facilitated more than 140 volunteers. In less than two hours, more than 12 acres of county park, shoreline, roadside and waterway were cleaned. The dedicated team ranged from old-timers who have been volunteers with Malama Maui Nui for 36 years, to those that have moved to the island within the past six months.
