Woman arrested in leg stabbing
A 32-year-old Wailuku woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in his right leg while they were in his vehicle Sunday night in Kahului, according to police.
Janalyn Okudara was charged with second-degree assault and abuse. Her bail was set at $2,500.
Okudara’s boyfriend of a few months reported he was sitting in the rear seat of his vehicle and Okudara was sitting on the front center console facing him when she grabbed a 3-inch steak knife and struck his right leg twice, police said. He suffered a 2-inch laceration on his inner right calf and a 1-inch laceration on his outer thigh, police said.
At the time, the vehicle was parked at Alamaha Street and Papa Place.
Okudara left but was later located near Pakaula Street and Airport Access Road in Kahului, where she was arrested at 1:38 a.m. Monday, police said.
