Arson suspected in Wailuku-area fire
Police are investigating a fire Tuesday morning that caused about $20,000 in damage to the Hawaii Paroling Authority building at 1797 Wili Pa Loop in Wailuku as a burglary and arson.
The fire was reported at 4:42 a.m. Preliminary investigation shows someone entered the building and caused a fire, police said.
The suspect, who is described as 6 feet tall, was wearing all black and last seen running toward Wailuku River, police said.
An investigation into first-degree arson and second-degree burglary is continuing.
