Cop on Top for Special Olympics

Maui Police Department officer Marjorie Kahookele-Pea (from left, first photo), Special Olympics Neighbor Island Regional Director Adrienne Laurion and officer Bethany Cravalho-Parker wave from the roof of Walmart in Kahului on Thursday on the opening morning of the annual Cop on Top fundraiser. More than a dozen officers from MPD are scheduled to participate in the annual three-day event for Special Olympics by manning stations at Walmart and the Kahului Safeway store through Saturday afternoon. Laurion said the goal is to raise more than $10,000 to directly support Special Olympians’  programs and travel costs for competitions.
