Ex-boyfriend of woman missing for 5 years indicted for murder

The ex-boyfriend of Moreira "Mo" Monsalve, who was reported missing more than five years ago, was indicted Friday on a charge of second-degree murder.

Bernard Brown was taken into custody by the Sacramento Police Department in California and is awaiting extradition back to Maui, police said. His bail was set at $1 million.

Monsalve, 46, a mother of three, went missing Jan. 12, 2014. She was last seen at the Iao Parkside apartment of her ex-boyfriend Brown.
