The play of sunlight and clouds over Lanai puts on a show for sunset cruise passengers aboard the Trilogy IV on Saturday evening as it passes offshore of Launiupoko.
The weather forecast for Kahului today is partly sunny, with a high near 91 degrees. A northeast wind, ranging from 5 to 16 mph through the day, could bring gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of showers is 40 percent, the National Weather Service said.
Statewide, light to moderate trades will continue through the weekend. Trade winds may strengthen slightly Monday as the frontal trough to the north diminishes. Showers may occur, especially in windward and mauka areas, in the overnight and early-morning hours, according to NWS.
