First photo: Salvation Army volunteer Mary Burcham of Lahaina shows off a pair of toys donated Saturday during the organization’s annual Toy Drive kickoff at Walmart in Kahului. Burcham and other volunteers were handing out flyers to shoppers entering the store that listed suggested toys to purchase for donation. She said there had been a good response both in donated Christmas gifts and cash contributions. Burcham added that volunteers were getting an early start to coincide with Santa’s early visit to the store Saturday.
Second photo: Salvation Army Envoy Vidella Nagasaki shows some of the toys she bought to donate. Each participating Walmart location has a list of items needed by The Salvation Army. To view specific registries, visit hawaii.salvationarmy.org/ hawaii/toydrive.
