Maui Street Bikers hit the road for a good cause

By MATTHEW THAYER 1 min read

KIHEI -- A line of motorcycles, fire trucks, vintage cars and other vehicles stretched more than a mile as Maui Street Bikers United Toy Run and Parade in support of Toys For Tots made its way on North Kihei Road while traveling from Kihei to Lahaina on Saturday.

In Lahaina, the riders handed their donated Christmas gifts off to the Salvation Army for distribution to Maui County kids in need.

Huelo resident Moke Kahianoe of the Sons of Hawaii club said he has been taking part in the run since he was 25 years old.

"To me, it's a good thing for the kids," he said. "Sometimes they have hard times so I'm very happy to help out. Today's a beautiful day.”
