EV charging proposals at county sites sought

Maui County has released a request for proposals to upgrade and expand public electric vehicle charging stations at county properties.
This request for proposals seeks to upgrade legacy electric vehicle charging infrastructure at its EVohana sites, as well as to deploy additional public EV chargers at other selected county-owned sites. EVohana fast chargers currently are located at the county building in Wailuku, Haiku Community Center and the Lahaina Aquatic Center.
Hawaiian Electric will be taking over the Lahaina Aquatic Center site.
The request is part of the county’s commitment to support the development and deployment of clean transportation options across Maui County, a news release said.
Qualified bidders are welcome. The deadline to submit a notice of intent to submit a proposal is 4 p.m. Feb. 14. The submission deadline for proposals is 4 p.m. Feb. 21.
The request for proposals is designated as RFP 19-20/P-116. It was released Thursday.
