Jollibee restaurant is set to open at Maui Marketplace
The Maui News
The wait is over for special fried chicken and spaghetti as Jollibee, the popular fast food chain in the Philippines that is gaining a foothold in the U.S., will open its doors in Kahului on Jan. 24, the restaurant said Monday.
Maui’s first Jollibee will be at the Maui Marketplace with store hours 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. It is in the former Bank of Hawaii spot along Ohekani Street.
Jollibee is famous for its Chickenjoy, which is hand-breaded and made with a secret marinade, and Jolly Spaghetti with its signature sweet-style sauce, chunky slices of ham and hot dog, according to the news release.
The restaurant also has a special peach mango pie.
Maui residents have been waiting for the restaurant to open since last summer when the Jollibee “Opening Soon” signs went up at the Maui Marketplace.
Jollibee is the flagship brand of Jollibee Foods Corp.’s 15 brands. JFC has more than 5,800 stores in 35 countries.
Maui’s restaurant will be the 41st Jollibee in the U.S. The company also is opening a restaurant in Florida’s Tampa area Friday. With Florida and Hawaii ranking among the top 10 states with the highest concentration of Filipinos, the restaurant said “opening additional locations in new key areas in these states was an obvious decision for the company.”
Oahu already has five locations.
On opening day, Jollibee will be giving away exclusive collectible items and fan-favorite products, the news release said. For more information, see Jollibee USA’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
