4 workshops set for entrepreneur week

The Maui Business Brainstormers will be hosting business education events for local owners and managers in Kihei, Lahaina and Paia next week as part of National Entrepreneurship Week.

The workshops, which are free, follow:

“Branding Your Service Business To Perfection” with presenter Ed Dille, owner of FOG Studios, a business development agency for video game developers and outsource providers in interactive entertainment. His presentation will focus on what it takes to brand a service business. The workshop is set for 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday at ProArts Maui in Kihei.

“The Bones of Your Business As Seen On Internet” with panelists Nicole Fisher, Kit Zulueta Furukawa, Tambara Garrick, Fred Rickert, David Yamashiro and Wayne Wong. Lori Fisher will be the moderator and Kaiulani Alday, the facilitator. The event, which will focus on online business presence, is set for 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Kobe Japanese Steak House & Oku’s Sushi Bar in Lahaina.

“Diffusing Conflicts In Your Business” with Robert “Bobby” Cravalho, a retired Honolulu Police Department officer currently employed by the National Football League in Hawaii. He will provide a baseline for effective communication and techniques for handling conflict situations. The three-hour workshop is set to begin 9 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Hall in Paia.

“Back To The Future For Success,” with presenter Craig Swift, who has 30 years experience working with small businesses as a business owner and in financing and community economic development. He is the former director of Maui Economic Opportunity’s Business Development Center. The workshop is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Hall.
