Restoration group is digging for a kitchen

Trevor Iliff (left) and Derek Butler clear away dirt at a suspected location for a 19th century adobe cookhouse behind the historic Baldwin Home Museum on Tuesday afternoon in Lahaina. The Lahaina Restoration Foundation invited the public to help dig from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the next two weeks in hopes of finding remnants or evidence of the building. The dig ended for the day early Tuesday due to weather and falling mangoes.
