Firefighters were mopping up hot spots in a brush fire Friday that burned about a quarter-acre on the makai side of Piilani Highway near Kanani Road, according to the Maui Fire Department.
Kihei, Wailea and Kahului fire companies responded to the fire reported at 3:03 p.m. in winds of 10 to 15 mph.
