Starting today, Cafe Mambo in Paia will be sponsoring a fundraiser for Somos Ohana Nicaragua, an Upcountry nonprofit that works in northwest Nicaragua.
From today through June 30, the restaurant will donate a portion of the sale of any menu item, excluding alcohol, for both dine-in and takeout, whenever customers mention the "Nicaragua fundraiser" to the server or when calling for takeout orders at 579-8021.
Somos Ohana Nicaragua is raising money to construct an auditorium for the school and community at Instituto Augusto C. Sandino, the secondary school that the nonprofit recently completed in La Carreta, Villanueva, Department of Chinandega, Nicaragua.
Cafe Mambo is located at 30 Baldwin Avenue in Paia, across from Mana Foods. Current hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
