Gym goes from lockdown to lock out

Shane Smith of Maui Lock Service changes the locks on the front doors of 24 Hour Fitness on Tuesday afternoon in Kahului. The gym on Hana Highway was among 100 locations in 15 states in the U.S. to close as part of the fitness chain seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday. The filing was the result of COVID-19, company CEO Tony Ueber told CNN. It was unclear Tuesday afternoon about the status of refunds for members; attempts to reach the Maui gym by phone were unsuccessful.
