Voter service centers now open

1 min read

Voter service centers are now open across Maui County, offering some of the services that polling places once provided.

While all residents should be receiving their ballots by mail this year, the voter service centers offer another option to vote in person, register to vote or turn in completed ballots. They will be located at:

• Velma McWayne Santos Community Center, 395 Waena St., Wailuku.

• Mitchell Pauole Center Conference Room, 90 Ainoa St., Kaunakakai.

• Lanai Police Station Conference Room, 855 Fraser Ave., Lanai City.

They will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Aug. 7, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 8.

Voters can also return their ballots by mail -- election officials recommend sending in the ballot three to five days before Aug. 8 -- or to the County Clerk's Office on the seventh floor of the county building at 200 S. High St. in Wailuku. Places of deposit will also be available at select community centers and fire stations starting Monday.

Registered voters who have not received their ballots should call the Clerk's Office at 270-7749.
