Flights in flux at airport

1 min read

Canceled flights on a Kahului Airport arrivals board Thursday likely reflect a reduction of demand caused by the reinstitution of a mandatory 14-day quarantine for interisland travelers. On Thursday, after the state reported a record-high 355 new cases of COVID-19, Gov. David Ige announced that he is looking to delay the pretravel testing program slated to start Sept. 1. The program would allow travelers with a negative COVID-19 test to bypass the 14-day trans-Pacific quarantine that's been in effect since late March.
