Free COVID-19 testing available across island

The Maui News

Maui County is offering free COVID-19 testing in West, South and Central Maui.

Residents do not need to have insurance or meet any criteria to get tested for free. Minit Medical is administering the program at standing community testing sites.

Participants must preregister by visiting www.minitmed.com/pre-register-maui-covid-19. For problems or more information, call 667-6161, ext. 7.

“You don’t need to have any symptoms, and it’s a very quick and easy testing program that we encourage everyone to participate in,” Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino said.

The free testing does not meet the standards of the state’s pre-travel testing program, the county news release said.

The sites, times and days through November follow:

• Lahaina/West Maui, 305 Keawe St. parking lot, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

• Kihei/Wailea, 1280 S. Kihei Road behind Ace Hardware, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

• Kahului, 348 Lehua-kona St., behind the Maui Marketplace, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Those participating in the free testing are asked not to enter the Minit Medical Urgent Care clinics. Preregistration is required for the drive-up testing.
