Temperatures in Kahului reached 92 degrees Sunday, tying the record set on the same day in 1984, according to the National Weather Service.

It was the third day in a row that Central Maui logged record-setting heat, after temperatures soared to 94 degrees Saturday, breaking the old record of 91 set in 2015, and 93 degrees Friday, tying the record set on the same day in 1991.

Kahului also hit 93 degrees last Monday (tying the 1984 record), 94 degrees Tuesday (tying the 2017 record) and 94 degrees Wednesday (breaking the 1997 record of 93).
