Man gets probation for Wailuku burglary

1 min read

WAILUKU -- A judge urged a defendant to take a lesson from a superhero whose name he shares when he was placed on probation last month for burglarizing a Wailuku residence.

"Are you an X-Men fan?" 2nd Circuit Judge Rhonda Loo asked Logan Hensley during his sentencing. "Do you know Wolverine?"

She noted that the character also known as Logan has the ability to self-heal.

"Will you have the power to not steal, not break into other people's houses?" she asked.

Hensley, 22, of Kula was sentenced after pleading no contest to a reduced charge of second-degree burglary, as well as fourth-degree criminal property damage and fourth-degree theft.

According to court records, he burglarized a residence on Linekona Place in Wailuku on Oct. 21, 2018, stealing food and clothing and writing profanities on a resident's Bible study diary.

Hensley was given credit for one year he had already spent in jail.

He was ordered to pay $450 in restitution and perform 200 hours of community service.
