Son'z Steakhouse and Nick's Fishmarket will be reopening in the next three weeks, Aaron Placourakis, the owner of both restaurants, announced Monday.
Son'z Steakhouse in the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Kaanapali, reopens Thursday and Nick's Fishmarket in the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea, on Nov. 1.
Placourakis also announced the permanent closure of Sarento's on the Beach, which has been operating for two decades in Kihei. "His efforts to negotiate agreeable terms on upcoming options was not met, therefore, he decided to opt-out based on current conditions," the news release said.
Placourakis is working to reopen his Manoli's Pizza Co. inside Wailea Village. More details on the open-air restaurant will be released in the future, the news release said.
"We need to start creating jobs and opportunities again," said Placourakis. "We are invested in our community, so we are working hard to reimagine our restaurants and meet evolving government restrictions and recommendations."
The open-air Son'z Steakhouse and Nick's Fishmarket are implementing new operating procedures and protocols recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the safety of guests and employees. These include spacing tables to at least 6 feet apart, reducing seating capacity by 50 percent, cloth face coverings for all employees and guests when not seated, temperature checks, prioritizing outdoor seating and frequent sanitation of all spaces.
"Our restaurants have been reconfigured to reflect safe socializing, and our team is trained on new protocols," he said. "The safety of our guests and team has always been and continues to be our number one priority."
Son'z Steakhouse will be open from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with happy hour from 5 to 6:30 p.m. There is complimentary parking at the Hyatt.
Nick's Fishmarket will be open daily from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. with happy hour from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Diners also receive free parking at Fairmont Kea Lani.
