County to resume liquor exams
The Department of Liquor Control will resume certification exams and classes beginning Thursday after the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to be suspended in August.
The exams and classes will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with seating limited to seven individuals, the county said in a news release. Registration is from 1 to 1:15 p.m., with exams starting at 1:30 p.m. Classes follow for those who’ve successfully passed the exam.
Applicants need to have a valid ID at the time of registration and must bring a sharpened pencil with an eraser. Face masks and physical distancing of at least 6 feet are required. Masks with exposed external valves, neck gaiters, bandannas and face shields without a permitted mask underneath are not allowed.
Appointments are required no earlier than two days in advance by calling 243-7753. They will be taken from 9 to 9:30 a.m. daily, excluding holidays. Walk-in appointments are not allowed.
The cost of the exam is $10. Upon passing, an additional card cost is $10. Applicants can pay by cash or check only.
Employee cards that contain an expiration from March 1, 2020 through the end of the emergency period are extended to 90 days after the end of the COVID-19 emergency period.
