The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will be offering three free, drive-in concerts over the weekend featuring local award-winning artists.
The series kicks off Friday with the return of Na Hoku Hou, a concert showcasing some of this year's Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners, including Josh Tatofi, Amy Hanaiali'i, Jeff Peterson and a special appearance by Halau Na Lei Kaumaka O Uka and Kumu Hula Napua Greig.
Saturday night's concert features Henry Kapono, Keola Beamer and Kamaka and Kala'e Camarillo.
John Cruz, Barry Flanagan, Eric Gilliom and Anthony Pfluke will headline Sunday's concert.
Admission is free, but due to limited space, advanced registration is required at MauiArts.org. Registrations are available starting at 10 a.m. today for MACC members and to the general public at noon. Due to limited vehicle capacity each night, only one of the weekend's concerts can be ordered per household.
Once a reservation is set, attendees must bring their original, bar-coded print-at-home e-ticket confirmation or have it ready to present on their mobile device. Only one scan is allowed per e-ticket, so duplicates will not be honored. Reservations are non-transferable.
Gates will open each night starting at 5 p.m. Once inside, attendees will not be allowed to exit their vehicles during the event. No alcoholic beverages, smoking or vaping are allowed. Restroom use will be limited to urgent needs only, and all patrons are required to wear a mask and socially distance from others.
MACC staff will direct parking, and vehicles cannot exit early until allowed by staff.
All three concerts will also be livestreamed on the MACC's website or on its Facebook or YouTube pages.
The MACC still remains closed to the public on a daily basis. In the coming weeks, event organizers plan to add more Live @ the MACC events featuring Hawaii-based arts in music, dance and visual arts, presented in a safe format.
