Onsy Souphanya talks with Seattle visitor Mahek Hooda as she looks over the produce at Souphanya and Son Fruit Stand Saturday morning along Hana Highway in Maliko. Hooda said she and boyfriend Prakash Golan were having a great time on Maui and were on their way to Hana. "It's been amazing. Even during COVID, it has been so safe. Maui has the best food." Souphanya said the stand near the Maliko Gulch bridge mainly features produce from the family's Paia farm, but also offers fruits grown by other Maui farmers. It is open every day, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. He said business has improved modestly since the reopening to tourism. "A little bit, it's picked up," he said.
