State adds more pre-travel testing partners

Hawaii has added 11 new trusted testing partners for domestic trans-Pacific travel and two more for intercounty travel, Gov. David Ige announced Saturday.

Travelers can bypass the mandatory 14-day quarantine if they bring proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours before their flight. Starting Tuesday, the state will start accepting tests from the newly added partners, who will provide reports on a TTP results form that will include the state seal, the logo of the local lab and a unique identifying number assigned by the lab to the individual result. Travelers without a form must quarantine until they receive one.

The new partners for trans-Pacific travel are:

• American Family Care, which offers tests for all travelers ages 5 and up. Printed results will be provided to the traveler prior to leaving the center. For information, visit www.afcurgentcare.com/patient-resources/hawaii-pretravel-testing/.

• American Samoa Department of Health, which has a certified lab at the Tafuna Health Center Clinic and offers the nucleic acid amplification test required by Hawaii. Visit www.americansamoa.gov/department-of-public-health/.

• Atlas Genomics, a certified lab based in Seattle. Travelers can schedule testing online and visit one of five Seattle-area locations. Expedited same-day results are available for travelers using the Renton or Bellevue locations. Visit www.atlas-genomics.com.

• Clarity Lab Solutions as Clarity Mobile Ventures are supplying a COVID-19 testing and clinical laboratory facility at Los Angeles International Airport. It will be located across from terminal 6 and will provide testing for passengers, airport and airline staff. Clarity's lab in Boca Raton, Fla., will be used for overflow testing if excess testing capacity is required for results within 24 hours of receipt. • Costco, which is collaborating with AZOVA to offer at-home, observed, FDA-authorized COVID-19 saliva RT-PCR testing for travelers (Costco members and nonmembers) ages 5 and older from anywhere in the U.S. Tests are delivered via UPS overnight delivery and electronic shareable results are available in 24 to 48 hours from the time the lab receives the test sample. • Go Health Urgent Care, which offers rapid testing with results in 15 minutes at designated centers in Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Missouri, North Carolina, Oregon, Oklahoma, New York, Washington and California, including Level 1 of the international terminal at San Francisco International Airport. • UC San Diego Health, which offers PCR testing at drive-up locations in San Diego County. Travelers ages 3 and older can get a test and will receive information on the location and address upon scheduling their test. Results are typically available within a day. A website is coming soon.

• XpresCheck, a multistate, airport-based wellness center specializing in COVID-19 testing. The center offers PCR tests with results within 72 hours, and rapid molecular COVID tests with results while patients wait. Visit www.xprescheck.com or xprescheck.com/hawaii/.

For intercounty travel, the newly approved partners are:

• National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii's Consortium at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (the testing site is located at the Diamond Head Tour Group area just past baggage claim 31) and the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel on Oahu. The consortium offers PCR-based tests to individuals ages 5 and older at a cost of $125. Results are provided in three to six hours. • S&G Labs Hawaii LLC, which offers walk-up and appointment testing throughout the state. All tests are processed locally with 24- to 36-hour turnaround times. Intercounty passengers arriving in Kauai and Maui counties can bypass the quarantine with a negative test taken 72 hours prior to departure; those arriving in Hawaii County can do the same or choose to get a post-arrival test from a trusted partner. They would have to remain in quarantine until a negative test is reported and verified.

Intercounty travelers can also bypass quarantine if the test sample is taken within 72 hours of departure and processed by one of three local laboratories, regardless of where the sample was taken. The result must be reported on the TTP results form.
