Latest developments:
• State Department of Health reported 53 new cases as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, including 39 on Oahu, six on Maui, five on Hawaii island and three on Molokai who were household contacts. One person had travel history, though DOH did not know whether the cases were from the traveler or community spread.
• There now have been 18,661 cases statewide, including 15,879 on Oahu, 1,652 in Hawaii County, 746 in Maui County (618 on Maui, 106 on Lanai and 22 on Molokai) and 120 in Kauai County. A total of 264 cases have been diagnosed out of state.
• No deaths were reported Monday; there remain 262 officially reported statewide, including 199 on Oahu, 43 on Hawaii island, 17 on Maui, one on Kauai and two out of state.
• Drive-thru testing will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Pukalani, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at The Shops at Wailea.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on identifying COVID-19:
• Fever and cough are symptoms.
• Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your health care provider immediately.
• Keep track of symptoms.
• If you have an emergency warning sign (including trouble breathing), get medical attention right away.
• Some people who are not showing symptoms could have the illness.
Methods for preventing illness include:
• Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after nose-blowing, coughing or sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid contact with people who are sick; stay home if sick.
• Wear a face mask in public settings. The mask is intended to protect others.
• Social distancing: Stay 6 feet apart from others.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
