Maui Humane Society's second annual "Bad Pet Art Fundraiser" ends Sunday on the nonprofit's Facebook page.

For a $20 donation, participants can submit photos of their pets to have their portraits hand-drawn by shelter staff and volunteers.

All of the proceeds will benefit Maui Humane Society animals.

Last year's event raised more than $2,000 for the organization and resulted in some excellent and not-so-excellent renditions of people's pets, the shelter said.

"We had so much fun drawing people's pets and the response from the community was great," said Maui Humane Society Director of Development and Marketing Jenny Miller. "We have even framed some of the more outrageous interpretations of pets from last year's fundraiser that keep us smiling, like the kitty that was drawn like a loaf of bread with a cat face."
