Officials to share road safety lessons
Transportation and public works officials from Hawaii County and Oregon will share road safety lessons from their own communities during a virtual town hall for Maui residents on Thursday.
The Vision Zero Virtual Town Hall, hosted by the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization, will take place at 4 p.m. via Zoom with a focus on reducing traffic fatalities to zero.
Matt Rodrigues, public works director from Eugene, Ore., will share key lessons from the city’s Vision Zero Initiative, while Natasha Soriano, transportation planner from Hawaii County, will also share takeaways from the island’s Vision Zero Action Plan.
