Akaku has made a channel change for Mayor Michael Victorino's virtual State of the County address, which will air at 6:30 p.m. today, the county announced.
The speech will now be broadcast on Akaku cable channels 53 and 54 and online at www.akaku.org. It was prerecorded at Maui Preparatory Academy's new Bozich Center and will be the first-ever virtual State of the County address, due to COVID-19 rules limiting gatherings.
Victorino's speech will focus on the pandemic, the county's accomplishments last year and a vision for a post-pandemic "new normal," the county said.
