Google COS to share career story
Luke Leonhard, chief of staff to Google’s Speech team, will share his career story during a virtual Maui TechOhana meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. on April 29.
Leonhard will give a presentation titled “Applied Tech to Big Tech: My Path to Google.”
“I hope to leave listeners with at least a few tips to help them on their tech journey and hope I inspire them to bring their whole self to work,” Leonhard said. “By the end of the talk, I hope they will have an understanding of how roles in tech work together to get things done.”
The virtual meeting will take advantage of breakout rooms to encourage networking and discussion among participants.
Space is limited and attendees must register in advance. For more information or to register, visit www.mauitechohana.com.
Advance care webinar offered
Hospice Maui will host “Five Wishes: Starting the Conversation about Advance Care Planning and End-of-Life Care” on Zoom from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
Advance care planning includes the discussion and documentation of wishes and preferences for the kind of care and treatment wanted or not wanted in advance.
The webinar will help guide participants, their loved ones, advisers and health care team through conversations before a health crisis.
“It is our hope that many more people in our community will have thoughtful conversations about their health care decisions and complete reliable advance directives to make their wishes known,” said Tanya Barbero, lead community outreach liaison for Hospice Maui.
To register, contact Barbero at email@example.com or visit www.hospicemaui.org/events.
