Drivers and passengers were injured Tuesday afternoon when a gray SUV disregarded a red light on Kaahumanu Avenue in Wailuku and collided into a red SUV that was turning onto the road, police said.
The crash occurred at 1:20 p.m. as the gray SUV was traveling in the Kahului direction and the red SUV was turning left onto Kaahumanu Avenue from Kanaloa Avenue, police said.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were inoperable, police said.
Drivers and passengers in both vehicles were injured and treated by medics at the scene, police said.
