Firing range rule changes proposed

A virtual public hearing on proposed rules for the Maui Firing Range at Ukumehame will be held at 5:30 p.m. on June 9, the county Department of Parks and Recreation announced.

The proposed rules provide a new section that allows for lease agreements at the firing range. Other amendments are updates and housekeeping provisions, the county said.

At the end of the public hearing, the department may take action on the proposed rules or defer and announce a date for action.

Testimony can be submitted orally or in writing at the public hearing. Written testimony must be received by the department before the close of the hearing on June 9.
