The Maui Police Commission is seeking applicants for police chief.
The deadline is July 12 to apply for the job as administrative head of the Police Department.
The position is open after former Chief Tivoli Faaumu retired May 1 after more than 35 years in the department.
To meet minimum requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens with five years' experience in law enforcement, including at least three years in an administrative capacity.
The commission is seeking applicants with additional experience of 15 years as a law enforcement officer, including five years in an administrative position. The commission also is seeking but not requiring applicants with a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or graduation from the FBI National Academy or equivalent training.
The pay is $158,851 a year.
Application packets are available from the Maui Police Commission at 55 Mahalani St. in Wailuku or by calling the Police Commission secretary at 244-6440 during office hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Applications, resumes and supporting documents must be submitted by certified mail and be received by July 12.
