California man dies in snorkeling trip
A 75-year-old California man died Sunday afternoon in a snorkeling trip off of the pali, police said Sunday.
At around 2:58 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the area of Maalaea Harbor regarding a man who was part of a snorkeling trip and found unresponsive in the water in an area called “Coral Gardens” off of Honoapiilani Highway. Lifesaving measures were performed on the boat but proved futile, police said.
Police identified the victim as 75-year-old Samuel Park. Police said the investigation is ongoing and that no additional information was available. An autopsy has been scheduled.
