Charter Commission to meet Thursday

The Maui Charter Commission is seeking community input on various proposals the commission will be hearing in the next several months, including a proposal to change the county budget to a biennial budget.

The next commission meeting is at 9 a.m. Thursday. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the meeting will be held online via BlueJeans.

On Thursday’s agenda is proposals related to the offices of the County Clerk and County Auditor, and the Cost of County Government (Theme C). The second topic will be Budget and Finance (Theme D), followed by other items including administrative matters related to community outreach and the Commission website.

This is the latest in a series of meetings scheduled over the next several months to obtain input and insights from the community related to proposed Charter amendments that will be considered for placement on the November 2022 ballot.
