Vaccination clinics still ongoing

FIRST PHOTO: Maui High School senior Janilyn Rivera, 17, receives her first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from Shane Naeole Tuesday afternoon during a vaccination clinic conducted in a school parking lot by a team from Mauliola Pharmacy. Naeole is the vaccine team lead. Rivera said she was not an athlete, but decided to be vaccinated to give her protection while attending in-person classes. Vaccine team coordinator Tori Ching said there were 30 people scheduled to receive vaccines and one walk up midway through Tuesday’s effort. “It’s definitely slowed down,” Ching said. “It’s not as jam-packed as it used to be.” Ching said another clinic to dispense free jabs at the parking lot is scheduled for Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Reservations can be made on the Mauliola Pharmacy website. A clinic is also slated to be held for students and staff at Baldwin High School, Friday, from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
