Wailuku rally seeks vaccine choice over mandates

Sign wavers line High Street in Wailuku on Friday morning during a rally against vaccine and mask mandates in front of the state building.

Recent mandates by the state for government workers to be vaccinated or subject to COVID-19 testing and for student-athletes to be vaccinated in order to compete have spurred protests in recent days on Maui.

Maui police estimated that about 500 people showed up to the rally on Friday.
