Maui schools report 43 COVID-19 cases

The state Department of Education on Friday reported 43 confirmed staff and student cases of COVID-19 at Maui County public schools from Monday through Thursday.

The count does not reflect when the student or staff was last on campus, but when the cases were reported.

The Baldwin-Maui-Kekaulike Complex reported 37 cases between Monday and Thursday, including five at Kihei Elementary, four each at Kamalii and Kahului elementary, King Kekaulike High and Maui Waena Intermediate; three at Iao Intermediate; two each at Baldwin and Maui high, along with Kalama Intermediate, and Pomaika'i Elementary; one case each was reported at Haiku, Makawao, Puu Kukui and Pukalani elementary schools, and one at Lokelani Intermediate.

In the Hana-Lahainaluna-Lanai-Molokai Complex, six new cases were reported. Four were at Princess Nahienaena Elementary and one each at Kamehameha III Elementary and Lahaina Intermediate.
