Kai Dales skateboards on Holomua Road with dog Abigale Tuesday morning. Dales said 7-month-old Abigale is a rescue dog that was down on her luck when he got her. "She was covered in fleas and scabs when I got her," he said. "She was downtrodden." He said he got help for the pup from the Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation. "They helped us out with her shots." Dales said he lives in a van and times have been challenging. "COVID has been hard on the poor," he said.
