Tourism, UH officials to speak on show

Two of the state’s top tourism and economic officials will appear on the Maui Chamber of Commerce’s weekly “Business Matters” radio show on Tuesday.

Carl Bonham, executive director of the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, and John De Fries, president of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, will discuss how Maui business practices and tourism attitudes among residents have changed over the course of the pandemic, according to a news release.

The show airs at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday on KAOI 1110 AM with a rebroadcast on the station at noon on Oct. 22.

Each week, the radio show features a small business segment on a local manufacturer. Cory Lovejoy, the owner and designer of Orchid Speed, will discuss the Lanai business’ product history and upcoming special offers.
