Immigration services webinar to be held

1 min read

Maui County will hold a webinar to discuss the end of immigration benefit services and what services will still be available.

The webinar will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. To participate, call (808) 270-7791 or send an email to immigrant.services@co.maui.hi.us by Nov. 30. A BlueJeans meeting link will be provided.

The Department of Housing and Human Concerns' Immigrant Services Division announced last week that it would no longer provide federal immigration application and other services starting Dec. 1 due to a lack of staffing. The division will continue sharing general U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and Embassy updates and will also maintain a select supply of current, free immigration forms.

The division encourages the public to use uscis.gov to access free forms and use its feature tools/resources to help navigate through the immigration process.

For immigration benefit assistance, the division recommends finding a recognized and accredited organization or an immigration attorney to assist with immigration paperwork.

Starting at /week.
