Photos with Santa and other holiday events will take place throughout December at several local malls.

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will offer Santa’s winter-themed village at its north wing on the first level. It is open for photos from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; noon to 8 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. No reservations are required. The photo-taking runs through Dec. 24.

Compassionate Santa is also available for children and adults with special needs. Contact (808) 877-3369 or email marketing@qkcmanagement .com for more information.

Santa also “feeds his reindeer daily” from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m., so he will not be available for photos then, the mall said.

Special all-day holiday events include Santa Paws, an opportunity for people to bring their pets to visit Santa, or to come by themselves, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Dec. 14.

Face coverings are required for guests ages 2 and up. People will be allowed to take off their masks for the photo.

There will be physical distancing measures on the set, including physical barriers where space does not allow for 6 feet of separation, according to a news release.

Lahaina Cannery is also hosting a story time and photos with Santa from 5 to 7 p.m. every Friday evening beginning today through Dec. 17. Reservations are required to ensure social distancing and can be made at LahainaCannery.com.

Santa will give a holiday reading and will be taking socially distanced photos using a customized virtual photo frame.

Attendees may participate in holiday coloring and treats and enter a stocking giveaway.

Live holiday entertainment will be held every Saturday through Dec. 18.

The Lahaina Cannery’s festival of trees decoration contest is back and features Maui schools, churches and community groups who have decorated trees with handmade ornaments and trimmings. The trees will be on display at the mall until Dec. 27.

The Shops at Wailea is hosting free photos with a socially distanced Santa at its “Wailea Window Wonderland,” with Santa placed behind a storefront window. Photos are available from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday along with Dec. 11 and 18.

The mall is also holding its holiday food donation drive, “Aloha Can Make a Difference,” in partnership with Maui Food Bank. Guests are encouraged to donate at the center during Santa photo hours or online at www.MauiFoodBank.org/donate.

Meanwhile, Maui Mall Village in Kahului will be hosting “Photos with Santa” this season in support of the Best Buddies nonprofit. Reservations may be made with Santa through Eventbrite for a small donation to Best Buddies on arrival. Visit www.eventbrite.com and search for “Maui Mall Village.”

Walk-up reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A customized virtual photo booth will be available to receive a Maui Mall Village framed holiday photo.

Santa and his elf will be at Maui Mall Village’s photo booth from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays through Dec.18 and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 22.

Officials from Best Buddies will speak on center stage at noon on Saturdays through Dec. 18. There will be live entertainment in the afternoons following the presentation.

Best Buddies is an international organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
