Latest developments:
• State Department of Health on Thursday reported 5,911 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 3,901 cases on Oahu, 996 on Maui, 567 on Hawaii island, 276 on Kauai, 43 on Molokai, 28 on Lanai and 100 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.
• There have now been 190,678 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 135,017 on Oahu, 23,360 in Maui County (22,198 on Maui, 768 on Molokai and 394 on Lanai), 20,056 in Hawaii County and 7,715 on Kauai. A total of 4,530 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.
• Nine new deaths were reported Thursday; the statewide fatality count is now at 1,135.
• Hawaii has reached a 75.4 percent vaccination rate of the total population statewide, with Honolulu County at 78 percent, Kauai County at 73 percent, Maui County at 68 percent and Hawaii County at 67 percent.
• As of 9 a.m. Thursday, Maui Memorial Medical Center was caring for a record-high 44 COVID-19 patients, including 26 unvaccinated and 18 vaccinated. There were four patients in the ICU, including three unvaccinated and one vaccinated. One unvaccinated patient was on a ventilator.
