Latest developments:
• State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 2,050 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 1,441 cases on Oahu, 317 on Maui, 150 on Hawaii island, 99 on Kauai, nine on Lanai, five on Molokai and 29 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.
• There have now been 208,887 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 147,206 on Oahu, 25,958 in Maui County (24,634 on Maui, 836 on Molokai and 488 on Lanai), 22,013 in Hawaii County and 8,908 on Kauai. A total of 4,802 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.
• Three new deaths were reported Wednesday; the statewide fatality count is now at 1,149.
• Hawaii has reached a 74.5 percent vaccination rate of the total population statewide, with Honolulu County at 78 percent, Kauai County at 70 percent, Maui County at 67 percent and Hawaii County at 66 percent.
• As of 9 a.m. Wednesday there were record-high 46 people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center -- 24 unvaccinated and 22 vaccinated, including nine who received their booster shots. There were 10 in the ICU -- seven unvaccinated and three vaccinated, with two who received a booster shot. Three patients were on ventilators and were all unvaccinated.
