Maui County and the state Department of Health will distribute free COVID-19 test kits at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, the county announced.
Six test kits, with each kit containing one test, will be distributed per vehicle. The self-test kits are antigen home tests, with results available in 15 minutes.
The distribution is drive-thru only, and walk-ups will not be allowed. Facial coverings are recovered when approaching distribution tents. The county asks that people heading to AlohaClear testing at the stadium not line up early in vehicles.
Entrance to the parking lot will be via Kanaloa Avenue near the Ichiro "Iron" Maehara Baseball Stadium. Lunalilo and Liholiho streets will be restricted to residential traffic only during the test kit distribution.
"We hope to provide for residents who are displaying COVID-19 symptoms and are unable to go to a test site," Mayor Michael Victorino said in a news release Friday. "In using the self-test kit, if the result is positive, you should contact your primary care physician and isolate."
Test kits are also being distributed to nonprofit partners and to remote communities in Hana, Molokai and Lanai.
