WAILUKU -- A Lanai man was arrested Saturday when police reported seizing drugs and paraphernalia in a search of his residence.
Jesse Spitalsky, 60, was charged with attempted second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.
During his initial appearance Monday in Lanai District Court, convening in Wailuku, Deputy Prosecutor Shelly Miyashiro said police executed a search warrant at Spitalsky's residence and found him in possession of 2.81 grams of methamphetamine that was packaged for distribution, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
She asked for his bail to remain at $26,000.
Spitalsky asked for bail to be reduced or to be released on supervision. He isn't employed and is on disability, said Deputy Public Defender Emily Collins. "He does have a dog to take care of that he's worried about," Collins said.
She said Spitalsky had made his court appearances in a pending case. In that case, Spitalsky is charged with third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Judge Blaine Kobayashi kept bail at $26,000.
