Active COVID cases at Maui jail top 200

The number of active COVID-19 cases at the Maui Community Correctional Center topped 200 on Wednesday, with three more positive test results reported by the state Department of Public Safety.

The new active cases included two inmates and one employee, bringing the total number of cases to 204 at the Wailuku jail. The total includes 199 inmates and five staff members.

The department reported Wednesday that 29 inmates tested negative for COVID.
